Only a few days on from our last game, we’re back in action yet again. This time in the UEFA Champions League. And its a big one. A game that we always struggle in, against an opponent we’ve met a lot over the last few seasons. Live from 9pm local time, coming from the Olympic Stadium in Montjuic. It’s Barça against Bayern Munich. It’s a massively important game and its not going to be easy for us at all. This match is going to be tough. So, lets jump straight into the review.
A Quick Look at our opponents:
Well, our opponent for tonight doesn’t really need much of an introduction. Bayern are one of the toughest opponents you can face in Europe. And as for us, we have faced them many times in our history. Some good, but a lot of struggles as well. Both teams tonight have come into the new season with new head coaches. Vincent Kompany for Bayern and of course Hansi Flick for Barça. They’ve got some incredibly talented players. Young and established players in European football. Of course the big ones are Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies. But new signings like Olise and experienced veterans like Muller make this team a very tricky and difficult one to beat.
Predicted lineup:
When it comes to the lineup for tonight’s huge clash. I think its pretty straight forward.the only real question coming into the game is who will partner Pedri and Casado in the midfield. My call would be Fermin Lopez at number 10. Not only is he a pressing machine, but he’s also a goal threat too. But Flick may stick with Ansu like he did against Sevilla, which wouldn’t be a bad idea at all. Or even Dani Olmo. However I personally think it will be Fermin Lopez. Apart from that one change, id expect the rest of the team to remain the same as the one that played against Sevilla on Sunday. It would be cool to see Scezney start in goal, because Peña doesn’t give me any confidence at all between the sticks. But the likelihood of that happening is pretty slim unfortunately. It’s a massive night for this young evolving team, but these are the nights we live for. Vamos!
My starting 11:
Peña
Kounde- Cubarsi- Iñigo- Balde
Pedri- Casado
Yamal- Fermin- Raphinha
Lewandowski
