Cádiz arrives at the Camp Nou with four players who had different experiences at FC Barcelona. We’re talking about Rafael Gimenez Jarque ‘Fali’ and Anthony ‘Choco’ Lozano, both played for Barca B. Ruben Alcaraz, spent few years in La Masia as a child. And there is also Sergi Guardiola. The forwards was a Barcelona player for a few hours before the club decided to terminate it.
Fali is probably the best out of these four players. The 29-year-old center back and midfielder, played for Barça B between 2016 and 2018 (half the 2015-16 season, the full 2016-17 season and half the 2017-18 season). He was key in the promotion to the Second Division in 2016-17 with the experience and character he brought to the orders of Gerard Lopez. Fali played 72 games without making his debut in the first team.
The honduran Lozano coincided with Fali at Barça B at the start of the 2017-18 season. However, after scoring 4 goals in 20 matches, ‘Choco’ left the club in the January transfer window of his first season. He cost 1.3 million when he arrived from Tenerife and Girona paid 1.9 million for him.
Further away was the passage of the Barcelonan Ruben Alcaraz. He played in the youth and children’s categories of Barça youth football. Afterwards, Alcaraz left La Masia, and grew up in the youth academies of Espanyol and La Damm.
Anecdotal, but well remembered, was the brief experience of the Balearic striker Sergi Guardiola. He was a forward for Barça B for eight hours on December 28, 2015. Immediately after signing his contract, people on Twitter shared his tweets from October 2013 in which he criticized Barça and Catalonia. The club decided to terminate his contract.
