Xavi and the players arrived to the game knowing that they lost Dembele for the next weeks. The coach had to decide who will replae him, with Raphinha as the main candidate. Eventually, no surprises there, as the Brazilian started the game. Moreover, Xavi opted for the 4 midfielders formation one again, and it helped the team dominate the game.
The first half was a good one for Barca, but they couldn’t find the net. Pedri had a very good chance to score after a great pass by Raphinha. But he waited too long and couldn’t beat the goalkeeper.
Raphinha looked nervous for most parts of the game. However, after the first goal he looked lighter. Hopefully it’s a sign of things to come.
Speaking of the first goal, Balde once again proved that he’s the best left back in the squad. La Liga TV chose him as the MOTM.
Minutes before the end, Araujo deflected the ball to Lewandowski. The Pole took the ball and scored his first league goal since October.
It looked like a comfortable win, but then Kounde scored an own goal. Afterwards, Betis kept trying to score the equalizeer. But once against Xavi’s defense did well and helped the team get the win.
After the win vs Betis, Barca are now 8 points clear abobe Real Madrid. However, Madrid will have the chance to reduce the gap tomorrow, vs Valencia.
