Robert Lewandowski is happy in Barcelona. Moreover, he takes the process that he has to live in the club with naturalness and responsibility.
“I am in the club where I want to be. So when you feel comfortable and happy, everything is easier,” he said in an interview with La Vanguardia.
The Polish striker stressed that “we are evolving. I did not expect to arrive and that everything would go well in the first season. I insist that it is a process that requires time and patience”
The elimination from the UCL
On the elimination of Champions, Lewandwowski made a clear analysis. “Barça should be in the round of 16”. However, he acknowledged that “before coming to Barcelona I was already aware that the first season could be harder than it surely should. We are in a reconstruction process that takes time, we have to be more patient”.
The attacker said what he thinks about Barça’s elimination from the top European competition: “You have to face some situations with more intelligence. In football sometimes you have to know how to win and not how to play to win, and that is what has happened to us. But these things make us stronger for the future”. Moreover, he believes that it will be good for players like Pedri or Gavi to play in the World Cup because it will make them even better.
In this line, Lewandowski said that if he could choose a quality from Bayern to export to Barcelona he would take “stability”. Furthermore, he continued to stress the importance of going step by step. “With all that Barça suffered in recent years, it cannot be expected that everything will change in a month. The club needs time and they will surely improve, and even be the best again”.
For the Polish striker one of the main keys to the culé debacle in Europe was the casualties. “We were growing as a team and we stopped dead,” he lamented.
