Sergi Roberto to start against Real Sociedad?

Barcelona’s disappointing debut in LaLiga against Rayo Vallecano is likely to lead to changes against Real Sociedad next weekend. One of the big problems is at right-back, where Ronald Araujo suffers when he has the ball. The player himself recognises it’s a position he is still getting used to.

It’s true that he plays there with Uruguay, but Barça’s style of play is more dependent on what you do with the ball and it’s harder for him in that sense at right-back than as a central defender.

It’s for that reason that Xavi could bet on Sergi Roberto, one of the more versatile players in the squad, at La Real as he does not seem to have faith in Sergiño Dest.

The American was not even in the squad for the Rayo game and it seems unlikely he will feature in San Sebastian this weekend. In fact, Barça still hope to close a transfer for the former Ajax man, although he is keen to stay and fight for his place.

Another doubt is who will replace the suspended Sergio Busquets. Frenkie de Jong and Pjanic are two of the options.
