Pablo Torre has to go step by step at Barcelona. He’s shown he has talent, but all will come with time. He will play more for the B team than the first team this season. However, Xavi Hernandez will give him some minutes at the top level.
Torre arrived at a moment where the middle of the pitch is full of talent. Pedri, the 2021 Golden Boy winner, a key figure. Then there is Gavi, Kessie, potentially Frenkie de Jong, potentially Sergi Roberto. All keen for minutes.
Pablo Torre needs to gain muscle mass and maturity, as is logical, although he’s demonstrated he has his head on his shoulders and is a sponge for absorbing advice from Xavi and his staff. In the first friendly against Olot he left some mouths open and took his chance well on tour in the States.
The objective is that he keeps playing regularly with Rafa Marquez’s Barça Atletic, where it’s expected he can regularly make the difference, instead of stagnating without game time in the first team squad.
It’s clear that the 3rd tier is too little for Pablo Torre. Last season he already helped Racing Santander promote from there. But right now the plan is that he will belong to Barcelona B in order to get enough minutes. Meanwhile, he will keep growing training with the first team.
