The youngster is finally at an an agreement with Barcelona
The renewal is on track. After various meetings, comings and goings, pushes and pulls, Gavi will sign his new contract with Barça. The agreement between both sides is there and he will stay at the club until 2026.
However the signing will not be done until he returns to training on July 11, given he has an extended break after playing in the Nations League with Spain. First Kessie and Christensen will be presented this week.
The wage was one of the biggest issues, with the club considering him a future star but Gavi and his agent see him as already a key man at 17. He has become essential for Xavi and Luis Enrique.
Gavi will be on a slightly smaller deal than Ronald Araujo. However, Barça are committed to revising his salary in the near future. Gavi will have a 1 billion euro release clause in his contract, same as Araujo, Fati, Ferran and Pedri.
His number is not certain, as he was number 30 last season. 11 and 17 are free, and also 8 but Pedri will have that. Numbers like 6, 12, 16, 16, 22 and 23 should soon be free too.
