Yesterday, Barça couldn’t win the match vs osasuna, dropping the lead twice. Here’s how our players did.
Defense
GK: Ter Stegen – 4.5/10 A subpar performance, the German keeper has simply had it rough for him the past few seasons.
CB: Araujo – 7/10 Did his job brilliantly, he made sure that Osasuna didn’t threaten Barca’s defence to his best, but Barça eventually conceded.
CB: Piqué – 8/10 Was incredible. A usual social media scape goat, Pique did what he could to drop a good performance. 6 interceptions, 9 clearances and blocked 2 shots.
CB: Umtiti – 6/10 Cutting some slack of for Umtiti, he hasn’t played football for a huge amount of time, nonetheless, he was very shaky, in his first game under Xavi.
Midfield
RM: Nico – 8/10 A great performance from the youngster, as he scored the opener. He was very composed on the ball, giving out and picking good passes.
CM: Frenkie De Jong – 5/10 Clearly was not good enough, Xavi hasn’t unlocked the keys to getting Frenkie back to his best yet.
CM: Busquets – 6.5/10 Was good on the ball, but when the opposition were in possession, the captain couldn’t control the turmoil.
LM: Gavi – 8/10 Assisted the opener, with a wonderful cross. Gavi was so good, he picked out good passes and was always brave to tackle. Quite a gem Xavi has on his hands.
Attack
RW: Dembélé – 6/10 Other than creating the chance for Abde to score, Dembélé looks like he needs more time to settle onto the pitch after the injury. Not looking good.
ST: Luuk De Jong – 5/10 Clever in his movement to drag a defender away, for Nico to score the opener, but he clearly isn’t a Barcelona level player.
LW: Abde – 8/10 An absolute wizard when he dribbles, he scored the second goal for Barcelona. Already such a crucial player for Xavi this season.
Substitutes
Mingueza – 6/10 Was decent, in his filling at left back.
Coutinho – 5/10
Jutgla – N/A
