This match was every bit as difficult as we expected. The first half was just like Barcelona’s season in 45 minutes. Dominating the match, finishing poorly and waiting for the unfortunate goal from the opponent. That actually came at the beginning of the second half.
The reaction by Barcelona’s players was excellent with quick fire goals by Messi and Griezmann. Then the Argentinian scored a spectacular free kick, his 50th for the club, and the match seemed to be over until Sergi Roberto came on to give Valencia hopes. The final fifteen minutes: pure suffering.
Lenglet is mentally busted, he’s a wreck and as much as I wish to give him another season, time to part ways. Same for players like Umtiti and Sergi Roberto among others.
Griezmann, Messi and De Jong are our most important players this season, we only got this far because of them. Credit where it’s due.
We have a big headache for the final rounds now. Beating Atletico would also mean Real Madrid can win all their matches and become La Liga champions, troubling…
