1916 – for the first time an official FC Barcelona document is written in Catalan, the minutes of a board meeting.
1924 – Antoni Ramallets is born. Moreover, he made 288 Liga appearances for the club from 1946-62.
1928 – Ramon Torralba’s farewell testimonial match takes place at Les Corts, a 3-0 win for Nacional Montevideo.

1992 – Víctor Valdés joins the club from Peña Cinco Copas.

1926 – Isidre Flotats is born. Moreover, he made 84 Liga appearances for the club from 1952-60, scoring 3 goals.
1960 – Pele scores as Barcelona win 4-3 against Santos in a friendly game at the Camp Nou. Kubala (2), Villaverde, and Suárez with the goals.

2010 – Yaya Touré leaves the club in a 24m euros deal with Manchester City. In his time with the Catalans he won two Ligas, one Copa del Rey and the Champions League.

1932 – Josep Samitier scores twice in a friendly game at Les Corts with Real Madrid, ending in a 2-2 draw.
1949 – Goals from Basora and Seguer give Barça a 2-1 victory against Sporting CP in the final of the first Latin Cup, the club’s first European title.

1971 – Barça come back from 2-0 down to beat Valencia 4-3 after extra time at the Santiago Bernabéu in the Copa del Generalísimo Final.

1962 – Roberto Fernández Bonillo is born. Moreover, he made 144 Liga appearances for the club from 1986-90, scoring 35 goals.
1963 – Esteve Fradera is born. Moreover, he made 17 Liga appearances for the club from 1985-87.
1983 – Hennes Weisweiler dies
1984 – Diego Maradona flies in to Napoli to sign for the club after two years with Barça.

1920 – Former Barcelona player (1939-55) and coach (1963-64) César is born.
2015 – Atletico Madrid confirm the transfer of midfielder Arda Turan to FC Barcelona.

1926 – Josep Samitier scores for the Catalan XI in a 2-1 defeat to Czechoslovakia in Prague.

2014 – Txema Corbella, club kitman for over 30 years, is dismissed at the behest of Luis Enrique.

1954 – Ramón Alberto Villaverde signs for the club from Millonarios for two years, choosing Barça over Real Madrid.

1995 – Sandro is born. Moreover, he made 17 Liga appearances for the clubf rom 2014-16, scoring 2 goals.
2000 – FC Barcelona player Luís Figo dismisses transfer talk. “I want to reassure fans that Luís Figo, with all the certainty in the world, will be at the Nou Camp on July 24 to start the season,” he said. “And I want to remind people that whatever is said about other clubs, Luís Figo has a contract with Barcelona.”

1976 – Edmílson is born. Moreover, he made 71 Liga appearances for the club from 2004-08, scoring 4 goals.
1976 – Ludovic Giuly is born. Moreover, he made 85 Liga appearances for the club from 2004-07, scoring 19 goals.
2008 – Eight members of the Board of Directors resign, including Antoni Rovira, as a result of “the discrepancy about what actions to take following the result of the vote of no confidence on Sunday”, as announced by vice president Albert Vicens.

1968 – Barça win in the ‘Bottle Final’ 1-0 thanks to an early own goal by Real Madrid’s Zunzunegui to win their 16th Copa. The league was eventually won by Real Madrid but Barça got revenge by beating Madrid 1-0 in the cup final in the Santiago Bernabéu. That day, Sadurní, Torres, Gallego, Eladio, Zabalza, Fusté, Rifé, Zaldúa, Mendonça, Pereda and Rexach could say: “It’s for you, Julio”.
2014 – Liverpool and Barcelona confirm the transfer of Luis Suárez, who signs a five year contract.

1935 – Josep Sunyol is elected president and entrusted with the task of sorting out the financial problems. His predecessor Esteve Sala would become treasurer and help close the season at a profit. On the pitch the team won the Catalan Championship and reached the 1936 Copa final.
1975 – The minutes of a junta of directors meeting are recorded in Catalan for first time since before the Civil War.
2009 – Samuel Eto’o passes his medical and signs a five-year contract with Internazionale.
