Given the lack of evidence to exclude FC Barcelona, the club cannot face any exclusionary sanctions as per Article 4.2 of the Champions League Regulations, which states: “If, based on all the circumstances of the case and the information available to it, UEFA is satisfied to its comfortable satisfaction that a club has been directly and/or indirectly involved since the entry into force of Article 50(3) of the UEFA Statutes, i.e., April 27, 2007, in any activity aimed at organizing or influencing the outcome of a match at national or international level, UEFA shall declare that club ineligible to participate in the competition. Such ineligibility shall be effective for one football season.”
The report from the investigators now awaits confirmation next week by the UEFA Appeals Committee. They will convene a panel comprising a minimum of three members. Therefore, it is highly anticipated that the committee will uphold the findings of the two investigators. Thus reinforcing Barcelona’s clean record in this matter.
