Controversy : Was that a penalty on Ousmane Dembele?

Barcelona missed mant chances last night, and eventually paid the price for that. But how would the game turn out if the ref would give that penalty on Ousmane Dembele? Was there a penalty? Eventually, as we all know, Barcelona lost 2-0 to Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Bayern’s goals both came in the 2nd half after Barca dominated in the first half. Robert Lewandowski, Pedri and Raphinha all missed chances. But the big moment came when Ousmane Dembele was brought down in the area.

Let’s not forget. Clear penalty on Dembele. You can’t tell me otherwise. No VAR??

Alphonso Davies was possibly the guilty party. However, the referee did not point to the spot and VAR did not intervene to overrule the decision or suggest a review. It looked like a clear penalty.

At the end of the day, Xavi and the players will go back home happy with the performance but unhappy with the result. We will never know how the game would evolve if the ref would call for a penalty.
