Barcelona fans have a reason to celebrate as star player Andreas Christensen caught everyone’s attention during the World Cup qualifying match on Monday night. The Danish defender scored a remarkable goal against Greece, bringing pride to both his national team and the hearts of Barcelona supporters.
Denmark was already leading 1-0, thanks to a first-half strike from Mikkel Damsgaard, when Christensen doubled their advantage just after the hour mark. The skilled defender carried the ball forward with confidence, executed a stunning curl to send the ball into the net from outside the penalty area.
This dazzling goal marks a significant moment for Christensen, who has regained his form and joy of playing football after returning to full fitness towards the end of last season. The 29-year-old missed the majority of the 2024-25 campaign due to injury, but he has since made two appearances for FC Barcelona this season and played in both of Denmark’s qualifiers.
With Inigo Martinez having left Barcelona, there’s a strong possibility that Christensen will play a key role for Hansi Flick’s squad this season. His continued presence on the field could bring much-needed stability to the team, provided he remains injury-free.
