Just a couple days on from our incredible win away in Paris. Barca are quickly back in action, this time in La Liga. With the all important second leg of the UCL Quarter finals just only 3 days away, heavy rotations are expected as we go away from home yet again. This time, to face Cadiz, live from 9pm local time. A game, especially away from home, that is always difficult. So although we’ll no doubt have one eye on Tuesday’s game, its important not to take this league game lightly. It’s a big game in the title race, so it’ll be interesting to see what Xavi decides to do with the team.
A Quick Look at our opponents:
When it comes to our rival for tonight’s game, Cadiz. They’re floating in and around the relegation zone. Something that isn’t unfamiliar to them. But regardless, going away to play at their ground is always a tricky task. Even more so under the lights. For me, the one man who stands out every time we play them is their goalkeeper Ledesma. A man who against any other team, looks pretty ordinary. But against Barca, he somehow always manages to turn into one of the best in the world for 90 minutes only. So beating him is a task in itself. Over the course of this season so far they’ve scored only 21 goals and have conceded pretty much double that with 40.
Predicted lineup:
As i mentioned above, rotations are expected for tonight’s game vs Cadiz. And with a huge game on Tuesday, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a lot of players rested. For me one of those will be Gundogan. He’s played the most football out of anyone, as well as Kounde. Araujo could also receive a rest too in defence and maybe even Cubarsi too. Cancelo and Iñigo are suspended. So i think defensively we’ll look very different.and we may even get to see a debut for Mikayil Faye. That would be really exciting, Xavi hinted at that possibly happening in yesterdays press conference. In midfield, Frenkie will probably start again, allowing him to build up match sharpness. Fermin, id also love to see get a start and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Romeu at pivot either. Although Christensen could play as he wont be available in midweek.
In the attack, id also look to make a few changes. Lewandowski is suspended so we can’t count on him. Which means its a perfect opportunity for Roque to get a start. And i think i speak for everyone when i say I’m really excited to see him out there again. I’d also give yamal and Raphinha a rest too. Meaning ferran and Felix would be my choice for the wings. Overall, a pretty much fully rotated team. Whilst remembering we’ve also got key player like Pedri on the bench too. It really is anyone’s guess as to how many rotations Xavi will want to make.
My starting lineup:
Ter Stegen
Roberto- ? – Faye- Fort
Frenkie- Romeu- Fermin
Ferran- Roque- Felix
