Barcelona picked up three precious points at Anoeta on Sunday. But the best news of the night was perhaps the performance of Ansu Fati off the bench. The young forward surely needed a game like this one. It will boost his confidence. He appeared when the game was still at 1-1. He then set up two and scored another within 14 minutes. That surely helped Barça turn the game on the head as they beat Real Sociedad 4-1.
The game was tied when Ansu came off the bench. First of all, he produced an exquisite backheel to set up Ousmane Dembele. That goal restored the lead for Barça again after Robert Lewandowski’s early opener had been cancelled out by Alexander Isak.
But he still had more presents to give us fans. Minutes later, he set up Lewandowski for the Polish striker’s second goal of a productive night. And Lewandowski returned the favour to set up Ansu late on.
Ansu took his goal in the 78th minute really well when one on one with Alex Remiro. It was his first goal since May 7 at Real Betis. Without doubt, there are reasons to believe he’s getting back to his best after injury hell for two years.
