Barça had a dilemma with Pablo Torre. But eventually, they decided that the Cantabrian will remain with the club. He will train with the first team, but during weekends he will play for Barça Atlètic.
His future was uncertain until now since both the player and some in the management were in support of a loan move.
In the end, the club want to prioritise the player’s growth and his adaptation to Barça’s play style.
The clubs offering to sign the Cantabrian on loan play in a style different from Barça’s own. In such a case, the club believes that more minutes would not imply a greater progression and have decided against the loan option.
Torre insisted on his wish to return to Racing Santander on loan. Barça are keeping this option open for the winter transfer window. However, he has time until 1 September to change his mind.
In four months, the club will re-evaluate the player’s situation. Therefore, he may leave on loan once the 2022 World Cup in Qatar is over.
Torre, for the time being, will train under Xavi and will play under the guidance of Rafa Márquez in the Primera RFEF.
The overload of matches, along with the national team games, may see some injuries among the most regular players, which is likely the only way he may get a place. Pablo Torre is a long way back in line behind Busquets, Pedri, Gavi, De Jong, Kessie, Pjanic, and Sergi Roberto.
