Barça Atlètic saw their lead at the top of the table narrow after a frustrating 3-2 defeat against Atlètic Lleida at the Camp d’Esports. Despite a stunning performance from Sama Nomoko, the Catalan side fell just short in a match filled with drama, fight, and flashes of brilliance. Even with the loss, Barça Atlètic remain leaders, holding a narrow one-point advantage over Girona B and Poblense.
A tough start in testing conditions
The trip to Lleida was never going to be easy. The poor pitch conditions made Barça’s signature possession football difficult to execute. Early on, a defensive mistake from Alexis Olmedo gifted Moró Sidibé the opener for the home side, punishing the visitors before they could find their rhythm.
Atlètic Lleida’s powerful forward line caused more danger, with Sidibé again forcing a big save from Bernad to prevent a second goal. Belletti’s team struggled to settle but gradually regained control through longer spells of possession, patiently wearing down the hosts’ intense press.
Sama Nomoko shines again
On the right wing, Sama Nomoko once again proved to be Barça Atlètic’s spark. His pace, skill, and composure in one-on-one situations constantly troubled the Lleida defense. After several dangerous runs and crosses, Nomoko finally found Víctor Barberá with a precise pass that led to the equalizer just before halftime. The connection between Sama and Barberá has become one of Belletti’s biggest weapons this season.
Lleida strike back to claim first win
However, the second half flipped the script. Atlètic Lleida came out flying, with Achhiba scoring directly from a corner in a moment of magic before Sidibé added his second just minutes later. Although Ureña’s goal reignited hope for Barça Atlètic, Campins’ red card made the final half hour chaotic. The visitors pushed forward relentlessly, and debutant Shane Kluivert nearly found an equalizer late on, but the comeback fell agonizingly short.
Still leaders, but warning signs ahead
Despite the defeat, Barça Atlètic remain top of the table. Juliano Belletti will take heart from his team’s spirit and Nomoko’s electrifying form, but he’ll also know that defensive lapses and slow starts can be costly in the title race. With Girona B and Poblense breathing down their necks, every point will matter from here on.
