Àlex González is starting to generate real excitement inside La Masia after making an immediate impact since joining Barcelona. His adaptation has been so fast that he already looks like a player who has spent years inside the club’s structure. That first impression has quickly turned into something much stronger: full trust from the coaching staff.
His debut said a lot. Àlex played the full 90 minutes almost immediately after signing, and his performance felt natural, confident and mature. He did not look like a newcomer learning the system, but like a forward who already understood every movement.
Since then, he has not let go of his place in the starting eleven. He has linked up well, attacked with intent and shown personality in moments that usually expose new signings. In a very short time, he has gone from fresh arrival to one of the most reliable names in the side.

He is already deciding important matches
His influence is not only visible in the general flow of games, but also in decisive actions. He has already scored twice since arriving, including one goal in the Copa del Rey Juvenil and another crucial strike against Nàstic. That latest goal came late in the match and helped secure three points the team badly needed.
What stands out even more is that his contribution goes beyond finishing moves. He has also been directly involved in other attacking actions, helping the team create danger in different ways. Àlex is not just appearing on the scoresheet, he is shaping the team’s attacking rhythm.
That ability to influence games in several phases makes his start even more impressive. He can stretch defences, combine in tight areas and attack space with conviction. For a player who has been at the club for such a short time, that level of impact is unusual.
The switch from striker changed everything
Part of his rise can be explained by his positional evolution over the last year. For a long time, Àlex played as a traditional No. 9, relying mainly on his instinct in front of goal and his presence inside the box. But last season brought a change that reshaped his profile completely.
At Damm, he was moved out wide and began developing into a much more complete attacker. That switch allowed him to bring out different qualities, especially his ability to drive into open spaces and beat defenders from wider zones. Since that transition, his level has clearly gone up.
Now he offers a much broader attacking package. He combines physical power, finishing ability and tactical versatility, which makes him difficult to handle in one-against-one situations. He can start wide, move inside and still carry the goalscoring instinct of a natural striker.
Barça already see him as a serious prospect
Inside the club, the response has been immediate. The coaching staff have made him virtually untouchable in the Juvenil A, and the club have backed that faith with a two-year contract. That decision says a lot about how strongly Barcelona believe in his potential.
The next challenge will be consistency. A fast start creates excitement, but maintaining that level is what separates a bright arrival from a real long-term prospect. Àlex has already taken the first big step, and now Barça want to see how high he can go.
That is why his name is starting to move around the academy with increasing force. His emergence has been quick, his impact has been real and the feeling inside the club is growing. Barcelona may have found another attacking talent capable of making serious noise in the years ahead.
