A quick one today as we move into our final game of the week, and we’re nearing some of our last games of 2025 too. It’s been an amazing year for us Barça fans, and although this season so far has been unpredictable and a b it inconsistent, there’s still so much to look forward to in the new year. For now though, we’re still in 2026. And we turn our attention back to La Liga, after a tricky game in midweek in the Champions League. From 6;30pm, live once again from the Spotify Camp Nou, it’s Barça up against Osasuna. Let’s jump straight into the preview!
A Quick Look at our opponent:
In terms of our opponent, Osasuna are one of the best performing teams in Spain over the last few years. They’ve established themselves comfortably as a mid table team and have consistently fought for the European spots too, as well as reaching domestic cup finals over the last few seasons too. They’re no pushover, that’s the point. It’s another tricky test for Barça, so we can’t go into this game thinking we can just roll over them. Because we can’t. And considering how our performances have been this season, we don’t deserve to have that privilege of thinking anyone is beatable. Osasuna will try and make life difficult for us. Funnily enough, for their standards over the years, Osasuna are well below where they would want to be in La Liga this season. They currently sit 15th in the table, only 1 point above the relegation zone. So they will come to the Camo Nou with something to fight for, just like us of course. But, we have struggled with the very lowest league sides in La Liga, so their position in the table is irrelevant.
Predicted lineup:
When looking at our possible lineup for tonight’s game, I would imagine we’d see some changes. Me personally, I would go back to the lineup that started against Real Betis last weekend. I really don’t know why Flick changed it against Frankfurt, but I would definitely go back to something like that. Especially focusing on playing Yamal in a more central position where he can pick the ball and make things happen. Instead of isolating him on the right hand touch line , allowing 3 or 4 players to gang up on him. We need him in a more influential position, especially with his physical struggles this season too. Rashford had a great cameo in midweek so I’d expect to see him in the starting lineup. Maybe with Raphinha on the right, with Ferran down the middle and Rashy on the left hand side. As for the rest of the team, I would keep things the same.
My starting 11:
Joan Garcia
Kounde- Cubarsi- Martin- Balde
Eric- Pedri
Raphinha- Yamal- Rashford
Ferran
