The renewal of Landry Farré (18 years old) has already been negotiated, and now it’s just a matter of FC Barcelona giving the final approval to make his continued stay official. The versatile right-back, part of the 2007 generation, was facing the end of his youth contract, but the club offered him a deal for three more seasons, extending until 2028, suitable for a Barcelona Atlètic player.
Born in Ivory Coast and raised in Martorell (Barcelona), Landry Farré, who can also play as a central defender and even on the left wing, was among the players chosen by Hansi Flick to participate in the first team’s preseason right from the start. However, he wasn’t part of the team’s tour in Asia.
The German coach sees in him the qualities needed to advance. He is a physically imposing defender with the ability to cover the flank and an offensive mindset. Landry played 21 matches with Barcelona Atlètic in the Primera RFEF last season, a period he alternated with Juvenil A (19 matches), where he won the League, Copa del Rey, and UEFA Youth League. He is also an international player with Spain’s youth teams. Under Juliano Belletti, who has already coached him, he will be a crucial part of the reserve team.
However, Barcelona Atlètic will not have Landry Farré available until late October or early November due to an injury. The defender suffered a right ankle sprain at the end of August. The club announced that “the expected recovery time is about eight weeks.”
With Belletti, he competed in the Youth League, playing a key role in winning the title. His last match was in the Intercontinental Cup against Flamengo, which Barcelona lost on penalties.
