“We hope injuries respect us because in total numbers, our squad is shorter,” commented Pere Romeu to the media before Friday’s training session. He spoke with authority, knowing that Caroline Graham Hansen and Clara Serrajordi, both starters in the opening game of Liga F Moeve against Alhama ElPozo, would not be participating due to physical setbacks, preventing them from facing Athletic at San Mamés this Sunday at noon. Following the session, the club released the respective medical reports.
“First-team player Caroline Graham has sustained a ligament injury in her right midfoot. She awaits further medical tests and will miss the upcoming match,” stated the medical report regarding the Norwegian forward, who suffered an issue in her midfoot area.
The medical report for 17-year-old midfielder Clara Serrajordi is more specific: “She has an anterior talofibular ligament sprain in her left ankle. The estimated recovery time is between 2 and 3 weeks.”
Patri Guijarro, who rested during the first match, is a strong candidate to replace Serrajordi, while Vicky López or Salma Paralluelo might step into the right wing position vacated by Graham (leaving the left to Claudia Pina, who was on the bench against Alhama before her ‘hat trick’).
