Alejandro Balde’s future is back on the table at Barcelona, although the internal message is still quite clear. The club are not trying to push him out, and there is no urgent need to sell one of the most important young full-backs in the squad.
For now, the plan is still to keep trusting him as part of the long-term project. Balde remains highly valued for what he offers on the pitch and for what he represents off it as a homegrown player with major upside.
But there is one detail that prevents anyone from calling his situation completely untouchable.
Barcelona are not putting him on the market
Inside the club, the current position is straightforward. Balde is seen as an important player for both the present and the future. His speed, attacking power and ability to break lines from the left make him a profile Barça continue to rate very highly.
There is also an extra layer to his importance. As a player developed at the club, he fits the image Barcelona want to protect as they continue building around young talent from within. That identity still matters a lot in the sporting project.
Because of that, there are no active talks aimed at moving him on. Barcelona are not shopping him around, and they are not building a summer plan around his departure.
But he is not completely untouchable
This is where the situation becomes more delicate. Barça do not want to sell him, but they also know their financial reality does not allow them to rule anything out completely.
If a very large offer arrives, the club would at least study it. That would not happen because Balde is unwanted, but because Barcelona still have to weigh every major financial opportunity carefully.
The question would not simply be whether to cash in. It would be whether a big sale could help unlock other strategic moves in the market and improve the balance of the squad in other areas.
That is the nuance shaping the case right now.
Balde remains highly valued across Europe
Balde continues to be one of the most attractive young full-backs in European football. His profile fits the modern game perfectly, especially for teams that want width, speed and directness from the back line.
He is fast, aggressive going forward and capable of creating superiority with the ball at his feet. Those are qualities many top clubs are willing to pay heavily for, particularly in leagues with greater financial power.
That is why his name continues to appear in different scouting reports and transfer discussions. Even without Barça actively placing him on the market, interest around him is very understandable.
Barcelona’s wider context changes everything
The wider context at the club matters here. Barcelona still need economic balance if they want room to strengthen other positions and continue shaping the squad in the way the sporting department want.
At the same time, the club believe they have internal alternatives and enough young talent to cover different scenarios if needed. That does not mean Balde is easy to replace, but it does mean Barça would not ignore a truly exceptional proposal.
Even so, there is still one key point above everything else.
His continuity is still the most likely outcome
As things stand today, Barcelona have not decided to sell Balde. In fact, keeping him remains the most probable scenario by some distance.
Still, the club are not in a position to offer absolute guarantees. A lot will depend on how the market develops and on whether any club decides to make an offer far above expectations.
If that offer never arrives, Balde will continue being an important piece. If someone pushes hard enough, Barcelona will listen.
That is the exact position today: Balde is not for sale, but he is not completely untouchable either.
