Vitor Roque’s Signing : All Done

Vitor Roque’s dream move to Barcelona is now complete.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Vitor Roque’s move to Spain has finally pushed through. With important documents and paperwork being sealed over the last few hours.

This move of course has been on the cards for months now. Roque has openly proclaimed his love for the Catalan giants, even taking it a step farther by fending off other offers from multiple other clubs so Barca could stay as the clear leader in the race.

Barca has reciprocated the same love Roque has shown them, by staying committed to the deal and keeping it a top priority throughout the winter and spring. As a result of the two parties joining hand in hand, the deal has met its desired ending. And as a result, both sides now satisfied.

The kicker in this deal though, is that Roque is expected to the join the club in January of 2024. This scenario has been thrown out as a possibility, due to Barca’s FFP issues. However, its one that hasn’t been met with full positivity.

Some want Roque to join Barca now, so his integration can take place over the summer. In theory, that feels more appealing than him joining in the middle of the season. But that might not truly be the case when you think about it.

Roque can stay in Brazil until 2024, honing his craft and making sure any extra kinks in his game can be worked out before he joins the club of his dreams. So when he joins, he won’t have any extra problems to work out during his integration.

Either way, this is simply the “current plan”. Things can change between now and the end of the window.

Barca’s youth movement

With this deal now in place, Barca have added another piece to their youth movement of the future.

Roque joins an impressive group of young players currently within Barca’s plans. That includes Pedri, Gavi, Balde, Ez Abde, Ansu Fati, and Lamine Yamal. That doesn’t even include some lookers in Barca’s youth setup, ones that haven’t broken into the first team yet.

With the likes of Chadi Riad, Marc Casado, Pau Prim, Aleix Garrido all waiting for their turn.

Barca has been criticized in recent years for neglecting their youth. But the new regime has done the opposite of that and have potentially set Barca up for an enticing future down the line.
