Raphinha is the latest Barça player to represent Brazil

Barça, as a big club in the world, always enjoyed the beautiful Brazilian brilliance over the years. Now, they will be proud once again to see one of them play actively with the Brazilian team in the World Cup. With the final list soon to be announced, the only Brazilian in the current Barcelona team in contention with other Brazilian forwards to be in the team is Raphinha (Rapahel Dias Belloli). He wants to make history by being yet another addition to FC Barcelona’s World Cup Brazilians after the recent ones being Romario, Rivaldo, Giovanni, Ronaldinho, Alves, Neymar, Coutinho, Paulinho, and some others in the past.

And this brings us to the explanation that many have represented Brazil but not all have had notable experience. All those Brazilians with notable experience really dazzled the Curlers during their stint with the Barcelona team. They added to the glory by representing Brazil in the World Cup as Barcelona players. First off is Romario, who was a world champion with Brazil in 1994, the World Cup hosted by the United States of America. He was also the competition’s third-best goalscorer. His stint at Barcelona was from 1993 to 1995.

The France 1998 World Cup Squad had two Barcelona players representing Brazil, Giovanni, and Rivaldo. Giovanni didn’t become a world champion though but actively participated to help Brazil. Rivaldo, however, made it again to the Korea and Japan World Cups in 2002. He became a world champion while Brazil won the trophy for a record fifth time. Giovanni was at Barcelona from 1996 to 1999, while Rivaldo’s stint was from 1997 to 2002.

A former world’s best player, Ronaldinho, was one of the prestigious former Blaugranas (2003 to 2008) to represent Brazil in the World Cup. He was brilliant at the 2006 German World Cup.

Recent years

Those who represented Brazil after that are still active players, though not for Barcelona at the moment. In South Africa (2010), Dani Alves and Neymar were there. In 2014, in their home country of Brazil, the duo were the only Barcelona players in the Brazil squad again. And in the 2018 Russia World Cup, they had Paulinho and Coutinho.

Raphinha wants to write a new chapter with Brazil

Raphinha should start for Brazil in the 2022 World Cup. His start to his life in Barcelona was good but still not great. However, the latest winner goal vs Osasuna was a clear sign of his potential.

The coach of Raphinha in Brazil, ‘Tite’, really likes him. He looks set to beat Antony and Rodrygo for the Right Winger spot.

Raphinha will look to write a new chapter in the long term connection between Barça and Brazil NT.
