On from what was a fairly difficult game on the weekend against Real Socidead, we turn our attention to the Champions League. This time, in not only our biggest of the season, but to use a quote from Pedri himself, this is probably the most exciting matchup in the game right now. Two teams that play a very high pressing, exciting, free flowing style of football with some of the best players in the world. It’s going to be a brilliant game for the neutral fan, but definitely a nerve wracking game for us Barça fans. However, we’ve earned the right to be confident and excited about games like this. Tonight from 9pm local time, it’s Barça against PSG.
As explained above, this is going to be our toughest game of the season so far. We’re facing the European champions, the Champions league holders. Of course, we have respect for that but we shouldn’t let that hold us back. Coming into the game, both teams are suffering from injuries to key players. Of course, on our side we will be without Gavi, Raphinha, Fermin Lopez and Joan Garcia. PSG on the other hand will be without the recent Ballon D’Or winner, Ousmane Dembele. Kvara, Marquinhos and Doue will also be unavailable. But, they do have quality in depth to be able to keep a very strong team. So even with their number of absentees, I don’t expect the game to be any easier.
Predicted starting lineup
In terms of our lineup for the game, we aren’t left with too many options apart from the obvious ones. I think the real question will come in defence, who will play alongside Cubarsi. And likewise in attack, will Lewandowski lead the line or will it be Ferran down the middle. Apart from that I think the team pretty much picks itself, Balde is finally back for the game tonight but I doubt he starts.
My starting 11:
Tek
Kounde- Cubarsi- Araujo- Martin
Pedri- Frenkie
Yamal- Olmo- Rashford
Lewandowski
