Lamine Yamal turns 16 today. The Barcelona youngster will be able to sign a professional contract with Barcelona now. The hierarchy is preparing the documents to make the promising talent stay at the club for a longer period of time.
Yamal’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is a great friend of President Joan Laporta. Mendes is also the agent of Ansu Fati, Alejandro Balde, etc. Mendes agreed on a contract until 2026 for the La Masia gem.
Lamine Yamal is trusted by Xavi, the first team coach. He made the player debut in La Liga against Betis in the 86th minute. The left footed Spanish wonderkid is a bet for the future and will stay between the dynamics of the first team and the Barca Atletic. The hierarchy alongside Xavi and Rafa Marquez have shown faith in his development.
Although, the La Masia Gem isn’t short of offers but he’s more than happy to stay at the club and continue his development. He’s expected to be a part of the team that is going to the USA Tour for the Pre-Season. At such a delicate age his commitment to the game is a sign that he’s mentally mature. Thus, making Xavi trust this young lad’s quality.
Yamal can play as a “False 9”, as a midfielder, as a Right Winger. The left footed forward has a good offensive awareness and his versatility makes him eye-catching for the management. The coaches from the youth ranks often term him as “Next Messi”. But it will be wrong to compare him with the Greatest Player of all Time, as it will create additional pressure on this young kid.
