Bradley Barcola remains one of the wingers Barcelona like most to strengthen the left side. His speed, dribbling and ability to beat opponents one-on-one fit perfectly with what the club are looking for. But liking him a lot is one thing, and making the operation affordable is another.
The first barrier is the transfer fee. Transfermarkt currently values him at €70 million, which is already a very high figure for Barça. PSG also signed him from Lyon for €45 million plus €5 million in bonuses in 2023 and have him under contract until June 2028.
That means Barça would need to go well beyond a normal offer to take Barcola out of Paris. A reasonable estimate would place the operation between €70 million and €90 million, depending on bonuses, competition and PSG’s willingness to negotiate. It is not an official figure, but it is a logical reading of his value, contract and market context.
His salary also complicates everything
The second major barrier is his wage. Capology estimates Barcola’s current gross fixed salary at €7.27 million per season, around €139,808 per week, excluding bonuses. His current contract also leaves around €21.81 million gross to be paid until 2028.
For Barça, that means he would not arrive on a low salary or accept an easy reduction. If the club wanted to convince him now, a reasonable estimate would be between €7 million and €9 million gross per year. That figure could move closer to the higher end if Premier League clubs or other giants enter the race.
This is not an official negotiated salary, but a projection based on what he already earns at PSG. Barça would have to fit that wage into a squad still conditioned by Financial Fair Play. That makes the deal much heavier than the player’s profile alone suggests.
The total bill becomes enormous
If Barça add a transfer fee between €70 million and €90 million to a multi-year contract with high wages, the total cost explodes. Between the purchase price and three years of gross salary alone, the operation could easily move above €95 million or €110 million. That would come before commissions, signing bonuses or performance add-ons.
That is the real problem for Barcelona. The club must choose very carefully where they place their biggest investment this summer. By profile, Barcola is very attractive; by price, salary and contractual conditions, he looks extremely difficult.
The conclusion is quite clear: Bradley Barcola would cost Barça a fortune. Between transfer fee, wages and PSG’s negotiating power, the operation would move in superstar territory. Barça like him a lot, but right now he looks very expensive, very heavy and very difficult.
Caution note: these figures are based on reported valuations, salary estimates and market projections, not an official negotiation between Barcelona and PSG.
