It’s a special season for Edinson Cavani. This summer, the Uruguayan signed with Valencia as he’s at the gates of his final World Cup with Uruguay. At 35 years old and after passing through all the major European leagues, he is a player who works on all aspects to improve his performance. And as he said recently, that includes a psychological one, as he admitted in an interview with Relevo.
Curiously, the first time he went to therapy was after losing at the Camp Nou. It was that unforgettable 6-1 for the Catalans, the night of the last great European comeback of FC Barcelona vs PSG. “The first time I saw a terapist was after Barça’s comeback against PSG. It affected me a lot and there are things that overwhelm you. In five minutes everything that we did changed. I felt symptoms of anxiety, cold sweats, I felt dizzy falling asleep and I was already afraid to fall asleep.”
“I was wondering: ‘Do I have a problem with my head?’ I went to the PSG doctor, whom I love, and he told me: ‘What is happening to you is happening to many people in different fields.’ that realize they are not superheroes.” commented the Uruguayan striker.

In the same interview, Edinson Cavani highlighted Robert Lewandowski. “There I already see a pure attacker and in that he is the best in the world. He has everything it takes to be a ‘9’, although modern football requires other things from you,”.
