Marc Casadó is again appearing in an important market file inside FC Barcelona. The club have reportedly set a price close to €25 million for the midfielder. That figure confirms his situation has changed compared to last summer.
Barça do not see Casadó as a player without value or future. But they will listen to important proposals if the market moves seriously. His case mixes youth, La Masia identity, a long contract and huge midfield competition.
A lower price than last summer
The big change is the current valuation being discussed around the Catalan midfielder. Last summer, when an exit was also mentioned, Barça reportedly asked for more. Now, however, his exit price has been adjusted to around €25 million.
That change does not mean the club have completely stopped trusting him. But it does reflect that his sporting weight is no longer the same. The competition in midfield has created a much more difficult situation for him.
Casadó has a contract until 2028, giving Barça control in negotiations. Even so, the club need income and know some assets can generate profit. In that context, a homegrown player with market value always creates debate.
Competition has closed his space
Casadó’s main problem is not his performance, but the number of names. Barça have several top midfielders competing for very few real starting positions. Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, Fermín and others directly affect his minutes.
Hansi Flick values the Catalan midfielder’s work, intensity and tactical intelligence. Casadó has shown personality in demanding matches and high-pressure situations. However, Flick also needs immediate hierarchy to sustain a winning project.
The club know keeping him without enough minutes could slow his development. A well-negotiated exit could help Barça financially and the player sportingly. The key is deciding whether to sell now or wait internally.
A painful sale, but very useful
Barça must balance emotion, academy identity and financial needs every summer. Casadó represents La Masia, commitment and a path built inside the club. That is why his possible exit would hurt part of the fanbase.
But the financial reality forces Barça to study operations generating clean income. In Casadó’s case, a sale would have a strong accounting impact. As an academy player, almost the entire fee would count as direct profit.
That detail explains why his name appears despite his interesting projection. Barça do not want to lose young talent simply because of pressure. But Deco needs margin to sign, register and reshape the squad.
The market will decide his future
Casadó is not sold yet, and his exit cannot be considered closed. The player must decide whether to keep fighting or seek minutes elsewhere. His own position matters, because Barça do not want an unnecessary rupture.
If an offer close to €25 million arrives, Barça will study it seriously. That figure is not excessive for clubs needing young and competitive midfielders. His profile could attract Spanish, European and even emerging-market teams.
Barça have lowered the price, and that changes the whole reading of the case. Casadó remains useful, but his place no longer seems completely protected. The twist is clear: the next offer could turn a sporting doubt into a major sale for Deco.
Caution note: At the time of writing, there is no official agreement for Marc Casadó to leave Barça.
