FC Barcelona has received encouraging news ahead of the upcoming match against Sevilla FC. Both Lamine Yamal and Eric García trained normally on Friday and are not expected to miss the game.
The situation briefly caused concern within the team after the winger from Rocafonda did not participate in Thursday’s training session with the group.
A brief scare with Lamine Yamal
After the demanding 1–1 draw against Newcastle United in the UEFA Champions League, coach Hansi Flick gave the squad a day off on Wednesday so the players could rest before returning to training to prepare for the match against Sevilla and, more importantly, the Champions League second leg next week.
Alarm bells rang when Lamine did not train with the group on Thursday. The club explained that the absence was due to general discomfort, which was not initially expected to affect his availability for the upcoming match.
The young winger also missed a team gathering organized by Ronald Araújo in Sant Cugat, an event aimed at strengthening the squad’s unity during a crucial stage of the season.

Lamine back in training
According to reports from Sport, the winger returned to training normally on Friday and is expected to be available for Sunday’s LaLiga match.
The game against Sevilla will take place at 16:15 and will coincide with the club’s presidential elections.
Even so, Flick could still consider managing the player’s minutes with the Champions League second leg approaching at Spotify Camp Nou.
Playing during Ramadan
Another factor surrounding Lamine Yamal is that the player is currently observing Ramadan.
This means he cannot eat or drink between sunrise and sunset. Despite that, the club has prepared a specific nutrition and recovery plan to help him maintain his physical condition.
So far, the fasting period has not affected his performances on the pitch.
Eric García also returns
There is also positive news regarding Eric García. The defender missed the Champions League match due to a muscle overload and spent Thursday receiving treatment from the medical staff.
However, on Friday he returned to the training pitch and trained normally with the rest of the squad.
For Flick, recovering both players is a major boost ahead of a crucial period in which Barcelona will fight for titles in both LaLiga and the Champions League.
