The UEFA revealed on Wednesday the squad lists for the upcoming edition of the Champions League. Among the players for FC Barcelona is the young Swedish talent Roony Bardghji. Although he wasn’t registered as a first-team player in La Liga, he is included in the list of Barça players eligible for the continent’s premier competition. Roony, who was introduced with the number ’19’ during the Gamper presentation, will have to wear number ’28’ in the Champions League since he is not officially a first-team player yet.
Young Talents and UEFA Regulations
The Barcelona roster on the UEFA website does not include young players such as Guille Fernández, Toni Fernández, Dro, Jofre Torrents, and Diego Kochen. These players have been part of the first team dynamics this season, but the blue-and-claret club can register them on the List B, which is reserved for academy players with a minimum of two years at the club. Remember, additional players can be included in this List B up to 24 hours before a match, ensuring that La Masia’s talents get their chance to shine in the Champions League.
Injury Concerns: Marc ter Stegen
Despite his injury, Marc ter Stegen is also registered for the Champions League, although he will be unavailable during the initial league phase. If he recovers by December, the German goalkeeper might be ready for Hansi Flick in the last matches before the knockout stages.
