FC Barcelona are continuing to widen their shortlist for the full-back positions ahead of the next transfer window, and Andrea Cambiaso is now one of the names being seriously monitored. The Juventus defender fits the type of profile Barça are looking at: versatile, competitive and capable of performing in several tactical roles. For now, there are no clear signs of an advanced negotiation, but there is enough reporting around his name to treat him as a real option rather than a random link.
Cambiaso is 26 years old, was born in Genoa, and is mainly used as a left-back, although his flexibility allows him to cover other wide roles as well. His current contract with Juventus runs until 30 June 2029, and his public market valuation sits at €30 million, which already places any possible deal in a significant price range.
His season helps explain why he is attracting attention. Official Juventus coverage highlighted in November 2025 that he had reached 100 appearances for the club, with 6 goals and 12 assists since his debut. That already says a lot about his consistency and his level of importance in Turin.
On top of that, his performances have not been limited to domestic football. In the 2025/26 Champions League, Cambiaso played 9 matches and 643 minutes, with 90.12% passing accuracy. Those numbers strengthen the image of a full-back who is comfortable on the ball and reliable in high-level European matches.
A profile that fits what Flick is looking for
What may attract Barcelona most is his mix of energy, technique and tactical flexibility. Juventus define him mainly as a left-back, but his recent usage shows a player capable of operating in different channels and contributing in attacking phases as well.
That makes him a very useful profile for Hansi Flick, who values full-backs able to provide width, maintain a high tempo and adapt to different structures during matches.
Another important factor is experience. Cambiaso is no longer a developing prospect or an unfinished player. He is already established at elite level and has shown he can hold his own both in Serie A and in Europe.
He also adds international weight. He is already a full Italy international, which gives him even more competitive stature and reinforces the sense that Barça would be looking at a player ready to contribute immediately.
The biggest obstacle is Juventus
If Barcelona decide to push harder, the operation does not look simple. Cambiaso has a long contract, and Juventus are under no pressure to sell.
On top of that, his public valuation is already around €30 million, which means any move would likely require a major investment or a very favourable market context for Barça.
That is why the current picture looks more like monitoring than an immediate offensive. Barcelona are still gathering reports, comparing profiles and weighing which full-back best matches both the sporting priorities and the club’s financial margin.
And on that list, Andrea Cambiaso has already emerged as a serious option to strengthen Flick’s defence.
