Arsenal ready to pay €60M for a Barça player

Dani Olmo has once again found himself at the centre of a major transfer story involving FC Barcelona. According to Fichajes.net, Arsenal view the Spanish international as the ideal replacement for Martin Ødegaard. The Premier League side would reportedly be prepared to move aggressively if the Norwegian leaves North London.

The interest arrives during a summer in which Barça must make several important financial decisions. Olmo is not considered a player the club are actively trying to sell, but neither would he be completely untouchable if a significant offer arrived. A proposal worth around €60 million would force Deco to seriously evaluate the situation.

The midfielder remains under a long-term contract and continues to be valued by Hansi Flick. However, injuries and fierce competition have affected his continuity throughout different stages of the season. That combination makes his future one of the more delicate files on Barça’s desk this summer.

Arsenal want immediate creativity

The name of Martin Ødegaard has started to generate debate around Arsenal. The Norwegian remains captain, creative leader and one of Mikel Arteta’s most important players. However, an inconsistent campaign has opened discussions that previously seemed almost impossible.

If Arsenal decide to move on from their playmaker, they will need a replacement capable of delivering immediate quality. That is where Olmo enters the picture. The Spaniard is a player who thrives between the lines and can accelerate attacks with intelligence and precision.

Arteta highly values footballers capable of operating in multiple positions without sacrificing technical quality. Olmo can play as an attacking midfielder, advanced central midfielder or even as an inverted winger. That versatility would allow him to adapt quickly to the tactical demands of the Premier League.

Barça will listen, but they will not give him away

Barcelona have no intention of officially opening the door to a major sale unless there is a compelling reason. Olmo returned to the club carrying significant emotional value and signed a contract running until 2030. His release clause also gives Barça strong protection against unwanted approaches.

Even so, a €60 million offer would have major financial significance. Barça continue to look for ways to improve their margin for registrations, signings and other pending operations this summer. Selling Olmo could generate substantial income without forcing the club to sacrifice some of its bigger pillars.

The sporting impact would also be considerable. Flick would lose a player capable of providing creativity, goals, final passes and experience at the highest level. Finding a comparable profile for a lower fee would not be an easy task.

Olmo could have a major role

For Dani Olmo, Arsenal would represent an attractive opportunity within one of Europe’s most established projects. The Premier League offers visibility, intensity and a team capable of competing for every major trophy. If Ødegaard were to leave, the Spaniard could immediately step into a leading role.

That potential status in London could become an important factor in convincing the player. At Barcelona, competition for attacking and creative positions is expected to remain extremely fierce next season. Pedri, Gavi, Fermín López and several other profiles continue to fight for minutes in similar areas of the pitch.

However, leaving Barça would not be a simple decision. Olmo returned to the club with the feeling of completing unfinished business after leaving La Masia years ago. For that reason, his personal stance could prove just as important as any offer Arsenal decide to submit.

€60 million could change everything

This situation perfectly reflects the type of summer Deco must manage. Barça want to strengthen key areas of the squad, but they also need to balance finances and maintain salary flexibility. Every major offer has the potential to reshape the club’s transfer strategy.

Arsenal, meanwhile, know they must act quickly if they eventually lose Ødegaard. Olmo offers immediate quality, European experience and an age profile that still allows for several years at the highest level. That is why he is viewed in London as much more than an emergency alternative.

The market has not delivered its final verdict yet, but the operation is already beginning to gather momentum. Barça are listening, Arsenal are preparing the ground and Olmo finds himself in a decisive position. And that is the twist: €60 million could turn a difficult decision into a very real sale.

Caution note: This information is based on reports from Fichajes.net and other media outlets. At the time of writing, there is no official confirmation from FC Barcelona, Arsenal, or Dani Olmo regarding a potential transfer. Transfer stories can evolve quickly, and negotiations, valuations, or sporting plans may change before any final decision is made.
