The FC Barcelona women’s team keeps adding league victories, with DUX Logroño being their latest victim after falling 4-0 at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
In yet another impressive and efficient performance by Pere Romeu’s players, Aitana showcased why she is considered one of the best players in the world by scoring a brace in just 25 minutes. Pajor and Kika sealed the final 4-0 triumph.
The match presented itself as an unusual one, taking place on a Friday during a holiday in Catalonia, scheduled for 8:00 PM, and occurring just two days before the men’s team was to play on the same pitch. Despite the unyielding effort these women have put in, winning everything and capturing global attention, media focus remains on the men’s game.
Nonetheless, the Barça Femení were focused on their task. Concentration, motivation, hunger, and efficiency—a formula guaranteed for success. Facing them was a spirited opponent, DUX Logroño, who had surprised everyone by drawing against Real Madrid in the first round. Yet, Barça’s dominance is overwhelming, and Madrid still seems to be catching up.
With that goal, Aitana became the top scorer this season with four goals, but just three minutes later, she extended her lead, scoring her fifth goal in the league and her team’s second with a beautiful shot from the edge of the area. Aitana, in her purest form.
Ewa Pajor, always having an eye for goal, slotted in the third before halftime, closing the gap on Aitana in the top scorer race with her fourth goal of the season.
In the second half, Pere Romeu made substitutions, and Kika Nazareth needed just seven minutes on the pitch to score the fourth, siezing an opportunity by pouncing on a loose ball in the box from a corner. Before the end, the most notable event was a VAR review requested by Pere Romeu for a potential penalty on Kika. After a five-minute review, the referee decided there was nothing.
