Marc Casadó is once again in a delicate position inside FC Barcelona’s transfer market. The club are listening to offers close to €25 million. The Premier League has now emerged as a real route to take the academy midfielder away this summer.
The midfielder is not marked as a mandatory exit in Barça’s current planning. However, his sporting situation and the club’s economic context force important offers to be considered. In that scenario, Crystal Palace and Brentford are closely following his evolution.
Barça know that selling Casadó would have a very favourable financial reading. As a homegrown player, almost the entire fee would count as accounting profit. That reality turns his possible exit into a very attractive operation to balance other movements.
The Premier League knock on the door
Crystal Palace and Brentford see Casadó as an ideal profile to strengthen their midfields. He is young, intense, tactically disciplined and formed in an elite competitive environment. His salary also does not currently represent a major barrier for English clubs.
Crystal Palace want to consolidate a project that has grown a lot in recent months. To compete more regularly, they need players with energy, rhythm and room for development. Casadó fits that idea because of his character, aggression and defensive reading.
Brentford, meanwhile, maintain a very clear policy in the European market. They usually bet on young, competitive players capable of increasing their value in the Premier League. For them, Casadó would be both an immediate investment and a bet for the future.
Flick values him, but cannot promise minutes
Casadó’s problem is not his performance or his daily attitude. Hansi Flick values his intensity, commitment and ability to sustain physical matches. But competition in Barça’s midfield makes it very difficult to guarantee him continuity.
Barça have many important names in an area packed with talent. Pedri, Gavi, Frenkie de Jong, Fermín López and Marc Bernal all reduce his competitive margin. Casadó can be useful, but he must decide whether he accepts a secondary role.
At 22 years old, the academy player is entering an important stage to consolidate his career. Training at Barcelona has value, but he needs to play to truly grow. That is why a Premier League proposal could start carrying serious weight.
Twenty-five million that make Barça think
The figure of €25 million is not minor for a player without an undisputed role. It also does not look excessive for an English market used to paying for young talent. That balance explains why Barça are not completely closing the door.
A sale would allow the club to bring in money without touching the biggest pillars of the squad. Deco needs margin to sign, register and organise several pending operations this summer. In that context, Casadó could become a strategic sale, even if emotionally painful.
The sporting side, however, also weighs heavily in the final decision. Selling him would mean losing a hard-working, reliable profile developed inside the club. At the same time, sending him to England would avoid the direct risk of strengthening a LaLiga rival.
The decision will also belong to the player
Casadó has always shown a special connection with Barça and La Masia. His historic priority has been to succeed in blaugrana, not leave at the first obstacle. But the market is starting to offer him paths where he could have more prominence.
If Flick confirms a limited role, England could become an attractive solution. The Premier League rewards his physical display, aggression and ability to compete strongly. Crystal Palace and Brentford could also offer him much more regular minutes.
The conclusion inside Camp Nou is becoming increasingly clear. Barça value Casadó, but the numbers are tempting and the competition in midfield is fierce. If the Premier League really moves above €25 million, Deco will have a serious decision on the table.
Caution note: This situation is based on reported interest from Premier League clubs and current market information. At the time of writing, there is no official agreement or confirmed offer accepted by FC Barcelona or Marc Casadó.
