FC Barcelona continue to send strong signals in LaLiga 2025/26. In a rain-soaked night at the Johan Cruyff Stadium, Hansi Flick’s men put on a show, outclassing Getafe with a 3-0 win.
With Ferran Torres scoring a brace before halftime and Dani Olmo sealing the result in the second half, Barça extended their winning streak while keeping pace with Real Madrid at the top of the table.
Flick’s Adjustments Pay Off
Coming just 72 hours after their Champions League victory at Newcastle, Flick rotated his squad, but not as heavily as expected.
Eric García and Andreas Christensen replaced Pau Cubarsí and Ronald Araujo in central defense.
In attack, Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres came in for Fermín López and Marcus Rashford.
Rashford was benched after arriving late to a pre-match activation, just as Raphinha had been the previous week.
The decisions gave Torres the chance to shine, and he did not disappoint.
First Half: Ferran Torres Strikes Twice
Barça wasted little time breaking down Getafe’s defense.
15’ Goal: A clever backheel assist from Olmo set up Torres, who finished first time past David Soria for 1-0.
34’ Goal: After a long clearance by Eric García, Raphinha played a perfect cross-field pass for Torres, who finished calmly for his second.
Before the break, Torres almost completed a hat-trick, but his shot from Pedri’s chipped pass rattled the crossbar.
Getafe struggled to respond, relying only on set-pieces and rare counters, while Barça dominated every phase of play.
Second Half: Dani Olmo Kills the Game
At halftime, Bordalás made three substitutions to revive his side, but the pattern of the match remained unchanged.
Barça continued controlling possession.
Getafe briefly threatened with a shot from Javi Muñoz, but Joan García remained solid in goal.
In the 62nd minute, Flick’s changes paid off:
Marcus Rashford raced down the right after a pinpoint long ball from Marc Casadó.
He pulled the ball back for Dani Olmo, who slotted home with ease to make it 3-0.
With the game wrapped up, Flick introduced Roony Bardghji and Ronald Araujo, while Rashford nearly added a late goal only to be denied by a brilliant Soria save.
A Perfect Week for Barça
The victory capped a flawless week for Flick’s team following the international break:
Three wins in three matches
Nine goals scored, only one conceded
Three clean sheets in five league games
Barça remain the most prolific attack in LaLiga with 16 goals, just two points behind Real Madrid, who maintain a perfect record.
Next, Barcelona will visit Real Oviedo on Thursday, aiming to continue their impressive momentum.
