Marc Bernal (18) is finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, and his comeback is drawing closer. The young midfielder of Barça has been sidelined for over a year following a severe injury to his left knee, where he tore the anterior cruciate ligament and also suffered an associated injury to the external meniscus. However, he is working tirelessly to soon receive medical clearance.
As we await good news about his return, Barça has shared on social media the progress of Marc Bernal’s rehabilitation, emphasizing that the player “is training very hard to return as soon as possible.” This indicates he might get the medical green light after the international break.
It’s worth noting that Marc Bernal has already been registered as a first-team player for Barça in LaLiga and will be donning the number ’22’, a number confirmed for the squad eligible to play in the Champions League.
Marc Bernal impressed in the three matches he played last season before his knee injury, and Hansi Flick has high hopes for the young midfielder to become a key player. Nevertheless, they plan to reintroduce him gradually to avoid any risk of re-injury, ensuring he gains minutes slowly to avoid setbacks.
