The Barça academy player wants minutes, while the Premier League appears as a very serious exit.
Marc Casadó is again in one of FC Barcelona’s most delicate files. Manchester United have joined the list of clubs interested in the midfielder. The operation is not closed, but English interest is gaining strength.
Barça know Casadó has market value, a contract until 2028 and a valued profile. However, the competition in midfield has reduced his immediate room for prominence. That is why the club will listen if a strong offer arrives.
United look for muscle and balance
Manchester United want to strengthen midfield with young, intense and competitive players. Casadó fits through energy, tactical reading, defensive aggression and clean first distribution. His La Masia background is attractive in an increasingly physical Premier League.
The English club have reportedly made enquiries about a possible operation. There is still no formal proposal on Barça’s table, but active monitoring exists. At Old Trafford, they believe his price could be manageable in today’s market.
United want to add balance and mobility alongside other important market moves. Casadó would not arrive as a star, but as a player with growth margin. That label could make him very attractive for a rebuilding project.
Barça need to decide quickly
Barça do not want to gift away Casadó, but his sporting situation matters. Hansi Flick has too many midfielders for very few real starting places. That accumulation pushes the club to value exits that create space and income.
The asking price reportedly moves between €20 million and €25 million. For an academy player, that fee would have a very positive accounting impact. Almost every euro earned from Casadó would count as direct profit for Barça.
Deco needs margin for registrations, squad planning and other market priorities. That is why a sale before late summer could make strategic sense. Even so, Barça must measure the sporting damage of losing him carefully.
Casadó wants minutes and trust
The key is not only money, but also the player’s future. Casadó needs regular competition to avoid getting stuck in a secondary role. His priority will be finding a project where he feels important immediately.
The academy player has shown personality, intensity and response in demanding Barça matches. But other players’ growth and returns have changed his immediate context. Now he must choose between waiting or seeking prominence away from the Camp Nou.
The Premier League can offer rhythm, demand and a huge stage for growth. The risk would be adaptation, because England demands physicality and quick decisions. But if United truly bet on him, Casadó would face a huge opportunity.
A sale that could hurt
Barça know selling an academy player always creates debate among supporters. Casadó represents work, development, commitment and a path built at La Masia. Losing him would be uncomfortable, although the economy pushes colder decisions.
The club will listen to United and other suitors, but not any formula. The idea is to close a useful, clean and beneficial operation. Variables or future mechanisms could also protect the player’s long-term value.
The summer places Casadó at a crossroads that could be resolved earlier than expected. United push, Barça need income and the player needs a real opportunity. The twist is clear: if an offer reaches Barça’s figures, La Masia could lose another important piece.
Caution note: At the time of writing, there is no official agreement between Barça, Manchester United and Marc Casadó.
