The situation around FC Barcelona and Ferran Torres has suddenly become one of the most important topics inside the club. His renewal is currently on hold, and everything now depends on what happens with Robert Lewandowski.
According to the information, Barça have a very clear stance: either Ferran renews this summer or he is sold before entering the final year of his contract. That timeline is crucial, as his current deal runs until June 2027. Laporta does not want key players entering their last contract year without a defined solution.
Ferran could gain importance… or become a key piece in a big deal
There are two very different scenarios now on the table. The first one depends on Lewandowski leaving the club this summer. If that happens, Ferran would gain a much bigger role as a central attacking figure, making his renewal a logical step for the new project.
In that context, he would go from being a secondary case to a valuable and trusted piece in Flick’s attacking structure. His versatility, work rate, and understanding of the system would make him an important asset going forward.
However, there is a second and much more aggressive scenario being considered. If Lewandowski stays, Ferran could be included in a major transfer operation as part of a bigger deal. That possibility connects his future directly with high-profile targets like Alessandro Bastoni or Julián Álvarez.
Everything depends on one decision
This is why Ferran’s situation is no longer secondary—it is fully tied to the club’s main attacking decision. If Lewandowski leaves, Ferran’s importance rises immediately. If he stays, the winger could become a valuable bargaining chip in a major deal.
At the same time, Barça are also protecting their financial strategy. Allowing Ferran to enter the 2026/27 season without renewing would significantly reduce his market value, something the club wants to avoid at all costs.
The conclusion inside the club is now very clear. Ferran Torres is no longer in a neutral position. His renewal is frozen, his future depends on Lewandowski, and Barça already know they must choose soon: extend his contract or use him in one of the summer’s biggest operations.
