Alejandro Balde is once again attracting serious market attention, and this time the story comes with an important twist. Barcelona do not consider him untouchable, but they are also not actively trying to sell him. The current position being reported is that Barça would only listen if a very strong offer arrived, while several Premier League clubs continue to monitor his situation closely.
That changes the whole reading of the case. This is not a sale the club are pushing for, and there is no formal negotiation on the table right now. But there is a strategic openness if the numbers become too important to ignore, especially in a summer where Barcelona still need to balance sporting planning with financial reality.
Barça have drawn a very clear line
At Camp Nou, the message is quite simple. Balde remains an important player in the project, and Barça are not looking to move him on cheaply or casually. He is still under contract until 2028, after renewing in 2023, and the club’s public position in recent years has consistently reflected how highly they rate him.
Even so, the club’s financial context means almost no case is completely closed if an extraordinary proposal arrives. That is why the most accurate description of the situation is this: Balde is important, but not completely untouchable if the offer is big enough to reshape other parts of the squad. Some recent reporting has even suggested that a figure around €70 million could force serious reflection inside the club, although that number remains media reporting rather than an official Barça valuation.
The Premier League are watching closely
The strongest pressure is coming from England. Recent reports say Manchester United, Manchester City and Aston Villa have all shown interest in Balde, even if that interest has not yet turned into formal bids. That is logical given his profile: young, explosive, offensive and already proven at elite level.
For Premier League clubs, Balde looks like the kind of signing who offers both immediate quality and long-term growth. For Barcelona, though, that same profile is exactly why they would only even consider a sale under exceptional conditions.
The player’s stance still matters a lot
Another important point is that Balde himself does not appear to be pushing for a move. Recent reports say he has no interest in leaving for the Premier League right now and remains focused on Barcelona and on returning fully fit for the decisive stretch of the season.
That matters because without the player’s willingness, any transfer becomes much harder to build. So even if Premier League clubs are attentive, the situation is still far from looking like an active exit.
A case that depends entirely on the market
So the overall picture is now quite clear. Barcelona are not desperate to sell Alejandro Balde, but they are also not shutting the door completely if a major proposal arrives. The Premier League interest is real, the club would listen under the right conditions, and the market could still change the tone of the story in the coming months.
For now, though, the most likely outcome is still his continuity. Barça would only move if the money was truly impossible to ignore. And that is the key detail behind all the noise: the door is not wide open, but it is no longer fully closed either.
