Raphinha is once again at the centre of the transfer market due to growing interest from Saudi Arabia. According to Mundo Deportivo, both Al Hilal and Al Nassr are prepared to offer €80 million to FC Barcelona. On top of that, both clubs could reportedly quadruple the Brazilian winger’s current salary.
If the proposal is eventually formalised, it would place Barça in front of a very delicate decision. Raphinha remains an important player for Hansi Flick, but an €80 million offer is impossible to ignore. In a market heavily conditioned by Financial Fair Play, such a figure always deserves consideration.
The key factor, however, remains the player’s own position. As things stand, Raphinha’s intention is still to stay at Barcelona. He feels important within the project and is not prioritising a move to Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia return with another attempt
This is not the first time Saudi clubs have tried to lure Raphinha away from Camp Nou. Last summer, significant proposals were already made to convince him to leave. Back then, the Brazilian chose to remain in Barcelona and continue betting on his sporting ambitions.
Now the scenario has returned, with Al Hilal and Al Nassr leading the chase. Both clubs want to strengthen their attack with a star capable of making an immediate impact. Raphinha fits perfectly thanks to his experience, age, productivity and ability to decide big matches.
The salary package would be the strongest argument in favour of a move. Multiplying his current wages by four would create a financial proposal almost impossible to match in Europe. Even so, the player continues to prioritise sporting goals over Saudi money.
Barça face a major dilemma
For Barça, an €80 million offer would inevitably trigger internal discussions. The club need income, wage-bill flexibility and room to complete other important operations. That is why no proposal of this magnitude can simply be dismissed without analysis.
At the same time, the sporting department knows that losing the Brazilian would come at a significant cost. Raphinha provides work rate, goals, pressing intensity and competitiveness — qualities highly appreciated by Flick. Replacing that level of performance would not be easy.
Barça are also restructuring their attack with several transfer files already open. The arrival of Anthony Gordon increases competition, but it does not make Raphinha expendable. In fact, Flick values having multiple aggressive and hard-working wingers available.
Raphinha wants to stay
The player’s stance completely shapes the situation. According to Mundo Deportivo, his current intention remains to continue wearing the blaugrana shirt. That desire blocks any immediate sale scenario, regardless of how attractive the financial offers may be.
Raphinha has earned an important place within both the dressing room and the new sporting project. He also believes Barça are building a squad capable of competing again at the highest level in Europe. Leaving now would mean walking away from a challenge that still motivates him greatly.
The Brazilian is under contract until 2028, which strengthens Barça’s negotiating position. The club are under no pressure to accept a reduced offer or rush into any decision. If Saudi clubs want to convince him, they must first overcome the player’s own resistance.
A sale that could change the market
Saudi money could provide enormous help to Barça if the player eventually agreed to consider a departure. An €80 million sale would give Deco significant room for signings, registrations and salary adjustments. It would also increase the club’s ability to pursue priority targets across the squad.
However, Barça cannot evaluate the operation solely from a financial perspective. They must also calculate what they would lose on the pitch and how the move would affect Flick’s plans. Raphinha remains a reliable performer who consistently delivers in demanding matches.
The market can still evolve, but the current picture is quite clear. Saudi Arabia are offering the money, Barça are analysing the possibilities and Raphinha remains committed to staying. And that is the twist: €80 million may tempt the club, but the Brazilian has no desire to leave.
