The future of Hansi Flick at FC Barcelona is beginning to take shape in the middle of the club’s ongoing electoral process. With presidential elections scheduled for March 15, the German coach’s continuity could depend directly on the outcome of the vote.
Flick is very satisfied with his experience in Barcelona so far. However, his final decision about continuing at the club could largely depend on who ends up leading the institution in the coming years.

Flick is happy in Barcelona
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg from Sky Sport Germany, Flick is open to extending his stay at Barcelona.
The coach feels comfortable at the club and has been very pleased with the environment he found after arriving.
He especially appreciates the sporting project, the connection with the supporters and life in the city of Barcelona, factors that have strengthened his willingness to continue leading the team.
Inside the dressing room, the relationship between the coach and the players is also considered very positive, which has helped him adapt quickly to the club.
His future depends on Laporta
However, there is an important condition attached to that possible renewal. According to the same information from Sky Sport Germany, Flick has linked his future directly to Joan Laporta.
The German coach wants to continue building the sporting project alongside the current president and believes that Laporta’s continuity would provide stability to the long-term plan they are developing.
For that reason, the result of the upcoming elections will be a decisive factor in his final decision.
Elections could change everything
The presidential elections on March 15 could completely reshape the scenario at Barcelona.
If Laporta is re-elected, Flick’s continuity would be the most likely outcome.
However, if another candidate wins the election, the coach’s future could suddenly become uncertain. According to Plettenberg, in that scenario Flick’s departure could become a real possibility — either this summer or later in the project.

Contract until 2027
At the moment, Flick is under contract with Barcelona until 2027. Nevertheless, sporting decisions at major clubs are often closely linked to the institutional direction of the project.
Inside the club there is a clear understanding that the coach’s future will largely depend on the path Barcelona chooses after the elections.
For now, Flick remains focused on the decisive final stretch of the season. But his future at the Camp Nou could begin to take shape in just a few weeks.
