Marcus Rashford is again at the centre of a very sensitive file for FC Barcelona. Bayern Munich have reportedly started moving strongly to try to sign the English forward. The German threat arrives just as Barça still hesitate over his definitive continuity.
The player belongs to Manchester United, but his future at Old Trafford looks completely open. The English club want to organise their squad, reduce salary weight and generate income. That is why a serious Bayern offer could quickly change Rashford’s scenario.
Bayern prepare a first offensive
Bayern would be willing to present an offer close to €25 million. That figure would still be below Manchester United’s initial demands. However, the gap with the €30 million wanted by United does not seem impossible.
In Munich, Rashford is seen as an interesting opportunity for price and experience. The forward can play from the left, attack spaces and also lead the line. That versatility fits a Bayern side wanting more options around Harry Kane.
The German club also believe Rashford needs a change to recover continuity. His recent stage has been marked by doubts, loans and an uneven United relationship. Germany now appears as a strong route to relaunch his elite career.
Barça lose advantage through caution
Barça have not completely stepped away from the case, but they are cautious financially. The purchase option is around £26 million, a manageable figure in another context. Today, however, every Barça investment is measured carefully because of Fair Play.
Deco and Hansi Flick value Rashford, although other positions also remain important. The club must study salaries, registrations and possible exits before committing more money. That wait could open the perfect window for Bayern to move ahead.
Rashford left positive feelings in some spells and still showed differential impact. But Barça do not want to pay heavily without knowing his future role clearly. The arrival of new attackers could reduce his squad space even further.
United want a useful sale
For Manchester United, the operation also has a clear sporting and economic reading. Rashford is homegrown, but his cycle seems to have entered serious wear. The club need income, and an organised exit would free an important salary.
Bayern can offer a quick, direct solution with enough money to convince United. The Bundesliga also offers Champions League football and a less damaged environment. If Munich accelerate, Barça could be left with little room to react.
United know waiting too long could cool an operation now gaining movement. They also know Rashford still has market value despite recent inconsistency. That is why a sale near €30 million would be seen as reasonable.
Rashford will have to decide
The player’s will could be decisive if several important options appear this summer. Rashford wants to stay competitive and recover his best version again. But he must choose where he gets minutes, trust and real prominence.
Barça offer an attractive project, but they currently lack a firm financial decision. Bayern, meanwhile, seem ready to move from talks to a concrete offer. That difference in rhythm could weigh heavily in the final outcome.
The market again places Barça before an opportunity that could escape through limited margin. Rashford is liked, but not at any price or under any conditions. If Bayern turn interest into a formal proposal, the Englishman could move definitively away from the Camp Nou.
Caution note: At the time of writing, there is no official agreement between Barça, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Marcus Rashford.
