FC Barcelona extended their strong start in LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26 with a commanding 3-0 win over Getafe at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.
The victory, powered by a Ferran Torres brace and a second-half strike from Dani Olmo, keeps Barça unbeaten and within two points of leaders Real Madrid. Yet the night ended on a worrying note, as Fermín López was forced off with an injury.
The only downside of the night was the injury to Fermín López, who left the field in visible pain with a suspected groin problem.
Flick’s Reaction
After the final whistle, Hansi Flick expressed concern but urged patience:
“We need to see what happens with Fermín tomorrow. We will wait for the tests.”
Fermín, 22, had been enjoying a great run of form, starting against both Valencia and Newcastle, even scoring a brace in the 6-0 win over Valencia. His setback adds to Barça’s growing injury list.
Barça’s Packed Injury List
Fermín now joins a group of sidelined players that already includes:
Alejandro Balde
Gavi
Lamine Yamal
Both Gavi and Lamine are targeting early October returns, potentially in time for the crucial Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain.
What’s Next for Barcelona
Barça’s demanding schedule leaves little room for recovery. If Fermín is ruled out, he will likely miss:
Real Oviedo (LaLiga) — Thursday, September 25
Real Sociedad (LaLiga) — Sunday, September 28
Paris Saint-Germain (Champions League) — October 1
Sevilla (LaLiga) — October 5
His absence would be a major setback, given his growing importance in Flick’s midfield rotation.
