Destiny Kosiso has become one of the standout names in Barcelona’s academy right now. The Barça U12 attacker exploded onto the scene at the LaLiga FC Futures Mundial in Brunete, scoring four goals across the first two matches of the tournament — a hat-trick against Shanghai Port and another goal against Valencia. After that opening day, he was among the leading scorers in the competition.
His impact at the tournament is not some isolated surprise. Barcelona had already included him in the official U12 squad for the event, in a team prepared for the new global edition of LaLiga Futures, which this year brings together clubs from five continents in Brunete.
What makes Destiny so striking is not only the number of goals he scores, but the way he scores them. The reports around the tournament have highlighted his calm in front of goal, his ability in one-against-one situations, his dribbling and his left-footed finishing. Against Shanghai Port, he made his statement with a rapid hat-trick, and later he struck again against Valencia to confirm that his opening performance had been no coincidence.
His numbers had already been warning everyone
The truth is that his previous statistics had already started to turn heads long before this tournament. Recent coverage described Destiny as the Barça academy striker who had scored 145 goals in 52 matches, and also noted that he had already signed his first commercial agreement with Nike at a very early age. Earlier coverage had also focused on his viral rise when he was even younger because of his extraordinary scoring numbers.
Barcelona’s own annual reports also show that his progress through the academy has been consistent. He appears in official club documentation across different youth age groups over recent seasons, which confirms that this is not a sudden breakthrough, but the continuation of a strong and steady rise inside La Masia.
A huge talent, but still one for the future
Even so, it is important to keep some perspective. We are talking about a very young player still in the middle of his formative years, even if his numbers and competitive impact are extraordinary for his age. That is the balance Barça will want to protect as the attention around him keeps growing.
What already seems beyond doubt, though, is that Barcelona have one of the most eye-catching young gems in their academy right now. Destiny Kosiso is making a huge noise at LaLiga FC Futures, and he is starting to leave both the tournament and La Masia completely speechless.
