The next blaugrana offer would rise to a huge figure, although Atlético keep their wall up.
FC Barcelona are preparing a new move for Julián Álvarez, and the market is shaking again. The next blaugrana offer would range between €120 million and €130 million, according to Santi Ovalle. It would not be a definitive proposal, but the most serious attempt to break Atlético’s resistance.
Barça know the operation remains extremely complicated because of Atlético Madrid’s position. The red-and-white club do not want to negotiate easily and still point to his clause. But Deco understands that an offer at that level already forces them to listen.
Barça raise the stakes
The first key point is the economic jump Barça are now preparing. Moving towards €120 million or €130 million completely changes the negotiation’s tone. Barça would no longer move with a symbolic proposal, but with a historic amount.
That offensive comes after Julián has left clear signals about his future. The Argentine has reportedly suggested that an exit could be best for everyone. That gesture has given Barça the push needed to prepare a much more aggressive offer.
Hansi Flick considers the striker an ideal piece to rebuild Barça’s attack. Julián presses, combines, attacks spaces and competes with an elite mentality. That is why the club believe he deserves an extraordinary effort this summer.
Atlético keep the pulse
Atlético do not want to lose a player they consider strategic for their project. Julián has a contract until 2030 and a €500 million release clause. That figure allows the red-and-white club to publicly defend that they are not forced to sell.
Tension between the clubs has also hardened any possible conversation in recent days. In Madrid, they are annoyed by Barça’s contacts and could go to FIFA. That means the operation is no longer only sporting, but also institutional.
Atlético want to avoid looking weak before their fans and the market. Accepting a forced exit could create a very uncomfortable precedent for the club. But rejecting €130 million for a player who wants out would also carry a huge cost.
Deco needs Julián to hold firm
Barça know their big advantage is not only the money they can offer. The key remains the player’s will, which must hold during difficult weeks. If Julián does not push, Atlético will have more room to block everything.
Deco will try to build an operation that can be defended economically and sportingly. A strong fixed fee, variables and payment structure could be decisive to close gaps. The problem is that Atlético do not want to turn this into a normal negotiation.
Barça’s return to the 1:1 rule could also give the movement more credibility. The club will have more operating margin inside the Fair Play assigned by LaLiga. Even so, signing Julián would require sales, salary control and precise financial engineering.
An offer that could define the summer
The jump to €130 million places Barça in a much more serious market position. This is no longer only about excitement, dressing-room winks or the player’s statements. Now comes the phase where the club must prove how far they will go.
Atlético will resist as much as possible because losing Julián would be a brutal blow. But they must also decide whether they can sustain such a long battle. Keeping him against his will could create an even bigger dressing-room problem.
Barça prepare their offensive, Julián waits for movement and Atlético protect themselves publicly. The operation is still far from closed, but pressure has already risen several levels. The twist is clear: if the €120–130 million offer truly arrives, the Julián Álvarez case will enter its hottest point.
Caution note: At the time of writing, there is no official agreement between Barça, Atlético Madrid and Julián Álvarez.
