In Barça’s offices they waited for a few days for striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to arrive with an offer from another team. And per Fabrizio Romano, that club is Chelsea, who look at Aubameyang as a good striker option. The London side want a forward. Moreover, they are also looking at Memphis Depay.
Auba knows that with the arrival of Lewandowski, he will not be a starter. Chelsea need a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, and Aubameyang is an option.
He could also depart and help Barcelona by doing so to clear some more money off the wage bill. Aubameyang arrived on very low wages to help the club out but they rise this season.
There’s still a long way to go in this story. Furthermore, the odds for it to happen seem pretty slim for now. But when you consider the fact that Barça look to lower the salary cap, it might happen. Moreover, Auba will be a bench player this season, and at 33 years old he might want to go to a place where he could get more minutes. Especialy when it’s in a city he knows well.
For now the move of Aubameyang to Chelsea seems unlikely. But in this crazy transfer window, anything can happen.
