Julián Álvarez’s name is shaking the Barcelona market again, but now with a powerful threat from Paris. According to the information circulating this Monday, PSG are going for the Argentine striker. Luis Enrique is one of his biggest admirers, and that changes the whole scenario.
The situation worries the Barça environment because Julián has long been one of their favourite options. Inside the club, he is liked for mobility, pressing, goals and ability to play in several attacking roles. But now a rival appears with much more financial muscle and a coach who sees him as ideal.
The problem for Barça is not only that PSG can push with more money. The Argentine has a contract with Atlético Madrid until 2030, so any operation will be enormous from the start. That gives Atlético a very strong position in any possible negotiation.

Barça still dream, but the price can explode
Barça have known for some time that Julián would not be a normal operation. Very high figures were already being discussed around the forward, with some reports placing him above €100 million. With PSG entering strongly, that pressure could rise even more.
That is the big problem for the Catalan club. The player’s profile fits almost perfectly with what Hansi Flick wants in attack. However, Barça’s economic context still forces them to measure every step very carefully.
The conclusion is quite clear with everything moving right now. Julián Álvarez remains one of Barça’s great dreams for the attack, but PSG’s entrance changes the entire board. If Luis Enrique makes him a total priority, the battle could become almost impossible for Barcelona.
