FC Barcelona is already working on two key operations that could completely define their attacking line for next summer. Marcus Rashford wants to stay, while Robert Lewandowski is beginning to attract interest from multiple destinations.
Inside the club, both situations are seen as directly connected. What happens with one will heavily impact the other.
Rashford’s future depends on one key factor
Flick is satisfied with Rashford’s attitude, work rate, and tactical fit within the team. The coaching staff values his commitment and his clear desire to continue at Barça.
However, the problem is not the player. It is the financial demand from Manchester United.
The message from England has been consistent for weeks: €30 million or nothing. If Barça do not meet that price, Rashford will return to Old Trafford.
Barça have tried alternative formulas, but all proposals have been rejected so far.

Financial Fair Play complicates everything
This is where the situation becomes critical. Barça cannot commit to a major transfer without carefully balancing every euro.
Even if Flick wants to keep Rashford, the deal is still far from being completed.
The club believes the English forward offers pace, depth, and a different attacking threat. He could be crucial both for rotation and for big European nights.
But there is a clear limit. No one inside the club wants to invest heavily without guarantees, especially with other priority positions to reinforce.
Lewandowski’s future starts to move
At the same time, Lewandowski’s situation is becoming increasingly active in the market. His agent, Pini Zahavi, is already exploring options.
Clubs like AC Milan and Juventus have shown interest, although no formal offers have been submitted yet.
This creates a parallel storyline that could define Barça’s summer.

The salary issue changes everything
The biggest obstacle in Lewandowski’s case is financial. Any move to Italy would require a significant salary reduction.
The same issue appears in Barça’s renewal proposal. The club has already suggested a lower salary, something the player does not fully accept.
This disagreement is slowing down any progress. His future remains completely open.
Meanwhile, offers from Saudi Arabia and MLS are also on the table. These proposals could become decisive if the player prioritizes financial security.
A decisive choice for Flick and Deco
This is the core dilemma for Deco and Flick.
- If Lewandowski stays, keeping Rashford becomes much more complicated.
- If Lewandowski leaves, Barça gain financial space but lose a key attacking figure.
There is no easy solution.
A summer that will define Barça’s attack
After the Champions League setback, the club cannot afford mistakes. Flick wants a more intense, dynamic, and competitive squad.
That means decisions cannot be delayed any longer.
Right now, the situation is clear:
- Rashford wants to stay
- Lewandowski is listening to offers
- Barça must choose carefully
And in a summer shaped by money, contracts, and priorities… everything can still change.
