Pedro Neto remains a player of interest for FC Barcelona, but he is not currently a top priority in the transfer market. The club values his talent, dribbling ability, and capacity to break games open from the wing. However, other operations are taking precedence in the current planning.
Inside the club, they believe the Portuguese winger offers very attractive qualities to strengthen the attack. He is a vertical, quick and aggressive player in one-on-one situations, capable of constantly creating danger. That profile fits well with what Hansi Flick is looking for in certain attacking roles.
The issue is not the player himself, but the order of priorities set for this summer. Barça remains constrained by Financial Fair Play and must be very selective with its investments. That’s why, despite being appreciated, his name does not lead the shortlist.
A profile that fits, but not the main focus
Within the club, they see him as someone who could bring imbalance, depth, and a different attacking threat from the flank. He matches the idea of adding wingers capable of accelerating play and breaking down compact defenses.
However, the current context forces Barça to prioritize more urgent needs within the squad. After the Champions League setback, defensive reinforcements, full-backs, and the striker position dominate the agenda. The left wing is also under review, but with more advanced options.
That’s where Pedro Neto loses ground compared to other names already being actively worked on. The club continues to monitor him, but his case is not considered imminent or essential right now.
Interest remains, but not urgency
This does not mean Barça has ruled him out completely. He remains on a secondary tier of attacking options. If market conditions change, his name could regain strength later in the window.
The sporting department continues to track players with talent, upside, and the ability to make a difference out wide. Pedro Neto fits many of those criteria, which is why he still holds some interest internally.
For now, the message is clear: Barça like Pedro Neto, but he is not a priority at this stage, as the club focuses on more urgent areas ahead of the summer.
